my favorite comfy tee’s!

By

I know this might be a silly topic to write about, but funny enough, it’s actually what kind of inspired me to start this blog. I was thinking one day that it might be fun to post Instagram stories of my favorite t-shirts (because personally, I LOVE when others recommend a good outfit), but then I was like, ‘ya no one cares about that Leah’ (which is probably true), and the fact that it would be like 10 stories long. And I don’t necessarily completely care what people think because, at the end of the day, you don’t have to follow me on Instagram, but I know that it can kind of get annoying! Then, the more I thought about it, I was like ‘oh wait! this would be a fun topic to talk about!’ and kept thinking of different posts until I finally made a notes app list of blog topics.

Now listen, I’m a comfy t-shirt girl through-in-through. You hardly will ever catch me in a dressy outfit because to me, comfort is confidence, usually. And when I say comfy clothes, I’m not talking about a super cute (but expensive) Daily Drills matching set.

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE a maxi, babydoll dress because it feels like just a big t-shirt, but still, I really only wear those to church on Sunday. To the sahm’s who wear a comfy dress during the weekday like a trad wife, I seriously envy you because I can’t get myself to do it lol – maybe one day! Anywaysss… back to the t-shirts. I’m a sucker for a perfect-fitting, boxy, oversized tee, and trust me, all t-shirts are not created equal – so let me break down my basic closet staples and pretend that you asked. 😉 I’ll do a pro, con, and fit for each of the shirts! I typically wear a medium and am a short queen for reference.

Let’s go from cheapest to most expensive because that’s how I filter when I shop online. 😂

  1. Old Navy – Vintage Crewneck Tee
  1. Pro: PRICE, washed look, great length, you could get true to size or 3 sizes bigger and it will still look good
  2. Con: I’ve noticed mine stains easily, but maybe that’s just me
  3. Fit: Between true to size and oversized. I have mediums and larges.
  1. Old Navy – Ribbed Tee
    1. Pro: Price, texture makes it a little bit different than just a regular shirt, good thickness
    2. Con: If you don’t like tighter-fitting shirts (like me), you have to size up a lot
    3. Fit: Fits small. I have an XL.
  2. Abercrombie – Men’s Relaxed Essential Tee
    1. Pro: SO durable, thick, if you have a man’s you can share it with them lol
    2. Con: You have to try this on in person because men’s shirts are much more straight and boxy, so if you don’t size up enough, it might get like stuck on your hips and look weird instead of relaxed
    3. Fit: Pretty baggy – I have a large.
  3. Abercrombie – Women’s Essential Tee
    1. Pro: Flattering, really soft, like the men’s, super durable and will last a long time, Abercrombie’s ‘essential’ line never misses
    2. Con: Not usually many color options
    3. Fit: Typically true to size. I have smalls and mediums.
  4. Aerie – Oversized Boyfriend Tee (Close tie for first 🙊)
    1. Pro: Usually always on sale, breathable without being see-through, cute details with sleeves and back, good colors
    2. Con: I feel like Aerie does this with everything but if you don’t grab the color you want as soon as you see it, good luck, because you’ll probably never see it again haha
    3. Fit: Oversized for sure! I have a medium.
  5. Free People – Nina Tee (My #1!!!)
    1. Pro: The best all-around t-shirt imo, soft, extremely comfortable, breathable, the best color options, good details
    2. Con: Can be see-through if you have the white or really light colors, price (this is like the one item I’m willing to splurge on because that’s how much I wear it)
    3. Fit: Oversized. I have smalls and a medium.
  6. Free People – Oversized Tee
    1. Pro: Thicker than the nina tee, very stretchy, also really good color options, love the detail of the longer sleeves
    2. Con: Price
    3. Fit: Very oversized. I have a small.

Happy shopping! 🤠🛍
